Fiz & Sleepthink - Body Knowledge

Fiz and Sleepthink are thrilled to announce the release of their new collaborative EP, body knowledge, a deeply personal and atmospheric five-track journey that is a culmination of years of friendship, creativity, and a shared love for storytelling through sound - out 21 February

Separated physically by distance, musician/ artist Fiz (located in Dja Dja Wurrung country just outside of Castlemaine) and sound artist/ musician/ producer/ composer Sleepthink (based in Perth/ Boorloo) have created a totally new sonic world that is raw, emotional and layered with rich textures and unexpected moments: body knowledge

“We always said that we’d make music together again”, the duo share, “so after a while, we went down to a house in the bush and did exactly that.”

Written and recorded across Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung country in Naarm, Noongar country in Collie and Northbridge, and Madrid, Spain, body knowledge is an audio scrapbook of the places and moments that shaped it. From a leaf blower on the banks of The Manzanares to the golden whistler’s song above the trees, the jangling of a stranger’s keys, and Fiz’s father’s piano, each track weaves together field recordings, organic instrumentation, and immersive electronic soundscapes.

Combining Fiz’s unique ability to blend heartfelt storytelling with delicate melodies and Sleepthink’s talent for blending the experimental with the accessible, “This EP holds the stories of our friendship, the pain and love of family, our longing for a life that makes sense, and a fear for where we’re headed” they explain. The result is a collection of songs that feel deeply intimate yet universal.
