Your Girl Pho releases debut album 'Fate So Wrong'

Award-winning Australian R&B, soul-dance meets electro-pop artist Your Girl Pho is nothing short of an icon. From her style to, most importantly, her sound and distinctive vocals, it’s no surprise she’s supported artists like Post Malone, played at Canadian Music Week, Music Matters Singapore, Festival Vaiven (Mexico), and most of Australia's major music festivals. Partnering with Berlin label Childhood Intelligence, Pho unveils her debut album Fate So Wrong.

On Fate So Wrong, Your Girl Pho reveals a narrative that intertwines the pursuit of the quest for love and genuine connection in relationships and music. Recorded between the cities she called home, Boorloo/ Perth and Naarm/ Melbourne, this album captures the essence of Pho’s journey, navigating the complex interplay between artistic ambition and the desire for meaningful relationships and feeling like there can't be both. 

Fate So Wrong delves deep into the identity of being a musician, exploring the duality of chasing one’s dreams while grappling with the uncertainties of fate. The idea that fate could be "wrong" and feelings of dissatisfaction within her life, the desire for change, & the tension between destiny and personal agency is a common theme throughout the album.  

Pho’s signature sound—a seamless blend of opulent electronica and sultry R&B—creates a lush, immersive backdrop for her introspective lyrics. Each track reflects the tension between following a passion and maintaining personal connections, character building and embodying the struggles and triumphs of balancing these often conflicting desires.

Through her masterful songwriting, Pho weaves an intensely personal and universally relatable narrative. The album captures the philosophical contemplation of fate and destiny when brazenly pursuing music and wearing that identity. But what if tomorrow the towel was thrown? “Who am I if not her, Your Girl Pho? Why can't I be that girl? ”. Would that be fate, or is that failure?

Released through Childhood Intelligence, a label established in Berlin, Germany (2017), a dynamic force that represents a global family of artists, defying all constraints with a discography representing composers like Marco Repetto (Grauzone), Dan Piu, STATION ROSE, Scanner, The Nightstalker, Dark Matrix, ADSR, Zoe aka.
